So I haven’t really been hitting the drawing table like I should be, and I think one of the reasons is because I haven’t figured out all the story yet. I have an overarching story I’m wanting to tell, but the smaller stories I want to tell I haven’t quite figured out the timeline yet, so I don’t feel confident tackling it. But I’m chipping away, and a little bit more has maybe fallen into place.
This bit I did at work, surprisingly enough. I know Geekboy has some failed romances in his life, and this might be the beginning of unravelling at least one of those. Though instead of working on old stories, I’m just creating new ones. But it helps put it into context, I hope.
So I wrote the story of Geekboy’s first day of school. Well, his first little bit before actually walking in the gate. And now I’ve started writing about his last day. I worked out the story for the page I had drawn earlier, without a story, and now it’s gotten a context, and it’s given me more framework to flesh out his relationships with other cast we haven’t yet met yet, except as story notes in my notebook.
