More Issue 7 Mr. Ted, Just Because I Said I would

Some progress, not much. Page 2 which is really page 3 is nearly finished pencils, so I did up a template for Page 3 which is really page 4.

Slowly, my plans fall around me.

Mr. Ted Part 7?

In an attempt to produce work, I'm trying to se myself the goal of a page a day, which failed miserably in April, resulting in no pages, and is off to a shaky but better start in May. These are the results at this moment, but I'm hoping to have more done by the end of the night, which is why I'm wasting time here updating my blog.

I've decided for Mr. Ted stuff to abandon inks, as I like the feel of the pencils, being much softer. So that should cut down on the time it takes to do everything. So apart from some erasing, and maybe some more shading, this page is essentially done. I'm not overly happy with the wonky panel borders, but not upset enough to redraw them.

I just went over the pencils with my Pilot BPS-GP pen, to make sure the repositioning comes up clear in the scan and to give the panels a straighter edge, though I'll still do them freehand, but they'll be less wonky.

And this is the page I should be finishing off tonight but that's probably not going to happen

Continuing To Work Out Geekboy Stuff

So I haven’t really been hitting the drawing table like I should be, and I think one of the reasons is because I haven’t figured out all the story yet. I have an overarching story I’m wanting to tell, but the smaller stories I want to tell I haven’t quite figured out the timeline yet, so I don’t feel confident tackling it. But I’m chipping away, and a little bit more has maybe fallen into place.

This bit I did at work, surprisingly enough. I know Geekboy has some failed romances in his life, and this might be the beginning of unravelling at least one of those. Though instead of working on old stories, I’m just creating new ones. But it helps put it into context, I hope.

So I wrote the story of Geekboy’s first day of school. Well, his first little bit before actually walking in the gate. And now I’ve started writing about his last day. I worked out the story for the page I had drawn earlier, without a story, and now it’s gotten a context, and it’s given me more framework to flesh out his relationships with other cast we haven’t yet met yet, except as story notes in my notebook.
