Response to "Can you hear me, so am I"

Over at his blog, Clay was doing some kind of activity drawing based on suggested phrases. I thought I'd respond to one of them as well, though it took me longer to do it.


That's the final product, and below is some of the process to get there.





I don't know if i was really successful, but Dad looked at it and got it, so I guess it worked. The mirror I used for reference wasn't the right height, so I'm not very happy with aspects of the composition. Also I tried a specific style of inking, does it show?
